A significant milestone for Peikko, who delivered their 500th rock foundations to Geitfjellet Wind Park project, located in Sør-Trøndelag area, Central Norway.
The deliveries comprised of FATBAR® Rock Anchors, tower adapter plates with connection bolts, drilling templates and an assembling system, and special reinforcement steel technology. Peikko is also responsible for the foundation design and structural calculations.
Manufacturer of wind turbines, Vestas; delivered 43 V136 wind turbines, each capable of 4.2 MW with a hub height of 87 meters and a rotor diameter of 136 meters. The total installed capacity constitutes 180.6 MW of power and estimated to produce 548GWh of energy annually. The construction of the Geitfjellet wind park started in 2018 and expected to be operational in 2020.
Fosen Vind DA, the largest Norwegian wind energy developer, executes and owns the Geitfjellet Wind Park. The heavy machinery contractor Johs J. Syltern was the prime contractor for civil work and infrastructure, consisting establishment of internal roads, hardstands, and preparation of the turbine spots. Their sub-contractor Stjern Entreprenør, performed the technical assembly of steel components and foundation casting work. Peikko Group’s Norwegian subsidiary Peikko Norge AS arranged the delivery of rock foundation technology.
